it isn't the first time I visit but it is the first time i have used uber and it is a game changer..i mean in a hot humid chaotic city, even a person who loves walking like myself has to give it up...the only places you can easily walk around in , are shopping malls (the best is Agora mall) and the ciudad colonial. i have been told it is not safe at night but tbh i havent had any problem but cant guarantee it could be safe for everyone..
everyone is at Malecon , sea promenade, after 6pm, jogging, relaxing and eating..mind you, the water is extremely contaminated and smelly..nevertheless this city has got something special which makes u like it...and most people are friendly.. i dined at Layali arabic restaurant it was amazing with beautiful decor..and tasty food..$$..also dined on the top floor of agora mall..plenty of food stalls..i had chicken teryaki with rice $..if you avoid all tourist traps and buy your presents in the not so known shops and eat in the not so touristy spots, you will save a lot..pls some street vendors are extremely poor and even if you dont wana buy anything, a small change will make them happy..i always keep 100 pesos notes in my purse..around a dollar. dont forget to visit boca chica, a natural swimming pool where the water is crystal clear..weekdays best..weekend too crowded..only approx 20 min by bus

Great place to visit if you want to dance salsa or bachata.
Great place to visit if you want to dance salsa or bachata. You can attend a good dance lessons there. The city center (Colonial Zone) is pretty small and mildly interesting, you can see the most interesting places in few hours. Use uber/bolt to travel through the city.

Loved the feel of the Zona Colonial where we stayed. Beautiful architecture and historical buildings. Interesting history. Guides on every street corner who with lots of pride and patriotism show you around. Visited Lago Los Tres Ojos really worthwhile. Lots of security. We felt very safe.

El Conde is a nice street to walk on in the day or early evening, just stay as far to the East side as possible. The beaches in Santo Domingo are filled with water garbage, go to Boca Chica if you'd like to actually get wet, but you better pack a lunch because everyone will try to rip you off for literally everything. China Town is nice, try to go during lunch hours on the weekend where they have amazing street food.
This is a very new hotel residence in the very centre of the Zona Coloniale of Santo Domingo. New, clean, nice, well decorated. There is a little kitchen in the room with everything necessary. There is even coffee and tea. The bed is really royal. There are balconies in every room. The inner court has jacuzzi and a bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Mr.Omar at the reception helped us in every sense. He really cared about us. Mr.Kamal was nice at the phone and listen to our needs. The best place to stay in Santo Domingo!
A most charming guest house, wouldn't call it a boutique hotel, but very nicely done, this place is for a discerning traveler who enjoys art, antiques and history.
The location is excellent in the colonial area which is going through extensive renovations, it is located very close to the main attractions like the cathedral, and numerous monuments.
Lovely rooms, nice and warm staff, overall it's a great place to stay in Santo Domingo
Excellent accommodation near the Colonial Zone and China town. It was perfect for me because it was quiet and they had fast wifi (it's difficult to find a quiet place in Santo Domingo). I needed to work during the day and the place was perfect. The staff were friendly and willing to work around my work schedule (cleaning and so on).
Fantastic location right in the heart of Zona Colonial, Comfortable bed and very nice new Air Conditioner that cooled the room off in less than 5 minutes, We travel to Santo Domingo frequently and have stayed at close to 20 different hotels, we were fortunate to find this place and it is now our go to for every trip to the capital
Everything was perfect!!! the staff, the location, the room, the food and Etc.... I found my place to stay in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I travel to Dominican Republic very often and I was looking for a place like this, that may me feel home!!! Excellent!!!!
Great little hotel in the centre of Santo Domingo. Very clean, the breakfast was basic, but decent. Its central location is unbeatable. Only the size of the room is a bit claustrophobic, but it is good for a night. No windows as way, but the building is beautifil.
Good breakfast , nice clean well appointed room . I especially envoyés the bathtub inside the room and the color palette was elegant . The service was on point and the facilities were good . I’ll definitely book this hotel the next time I’m in Santo Domingo.
Great hotel, cosy and clean, big comfortable bed. Helpful staff. The hotel is located right in the center of the colonial area but it's very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit Santo Domingo.
Beautiful room and hotel, brings modern comfort in with the historic surroundings. Staff was great and very helpful. Location was awesome and close to everything in terms of zona colonial and tons of restaurants nearby. Can’t wait to visit again!
This is the best hotel in the zone, I have visited all of the 5 star hotels here. Catalonia is spacious, all facilities have great view, breakfast is amazing! Please keep up with the high service you provide, definitely will cone again.
Surprisingly nice and convenient for the very low price, I asked for fan room and got one with A/C. Room even had a balcony. Close to the colonial Santo Domingo center, 1km walk from the cathedral. Real low budget hotel, not a hostel.
What an amazing stay! the place is absolutely gorgeous and has all what you need for your visit of Santo Domingo. parking is nearby, and the hotel is located perfectly inside the Zona Colonial. Highly recommended!
Good facilities, friendly and helpful staff, the gym was excellent, the food was good plentiful and reasonably priced for a five star hotel, we liked it so much we stayed twice whilst in the Dominican Republic
LOCATION was perfect--near to the #1 Pedestrian SHOPPING STREET in Santo Domingo!! (Calle Conde)
I stayed at this hotel once before in Summer 2020.
STAFF were really nice.
well located in zona colonial, with friendly and diligent staff, good maintenance and a great dominican style buffet. Overall, great start point for your trip in santo domingo.
Staff are super, hotel has the best original colonial features. Food is great. I always stay here when in the capital, for me it's the best hotel in Dominican Republic.
Perfect location to walk around the Colonial zone in Santo Domingo. The staff was super helpful, they told us how to get a bus to La Romana. Nice breakfast
